What's the difference between 5w30 Diesel oil and 5w30 Engine oil?

I'm talking about chemical and physical properties. What's the difference between 5w30 Diesel oil and 5w30 Engine oil?
Diesel lubricants (oil) have more detergents and other compounds to keep the soot that builds up in it in suspension . . . Diesels tend to have some carbon blow by the piston rings and need more than gasoline engines . .

Some people will actually add a quart of diesel lubricant to their older gasoline engines, once in a while, to clean up the varnish that forms on the piston rings . . .What's the difference between 5w30 Diesel oil and 5w30 Engine oil?
If you look at the specification on a gallon of modern oil you get two sets of letters.

One starts S and the other C, se/sf/sg/sh/sj cc/cd

The s letters refer to it's petrol engine specs and the c letters refer to it's diesel specs.

But they are infact the same oil. On modern oil cans they only print the word diesel to make you feel better when you buy it and if you look at the small print it will say can also be used in petrol engines and visa versa.

Anything else is a myth these days, it's years since there was any difference.
