How Is it possible to burn out all the oil in a lawn mower in 6 months?

Bought a Poulan lawn mower in April filled it with oil and started mowing, and burnt out the engine, it has a 1 year warranty. Repair shop said they won`t replace or repair under warranty, plus we owe them for the service. How Is it possible to burn out all the oil in a lawn mower in 6 months?
You should check the oil level every time you start the mower.

The repair shop isn't trying to ';screw'; you. The oil may not have burned out, but if you had a leak, it could have leaked out.

Running a lawnmower without oil will destroy it in about 3-5 minutes, less if it's really hot.

Chalk it up as a life lesson, and read and study the owner's manual more carefully the next time. How Is it possible to burn out all the oil in a lawn mower in 6 months?
Your fault not theirs. You have to check the oil in any engine on a regular basis. I check my lawn mower oil every time I mow and change it out at the end of every season. It's been running strong for 7 years.

Next time RTFM.
take the mower and let them sue you. the warranty should have covered oil leaks.
